Michael Brennan edges Bridgeman and Mitchell to win Baycurrent Classic
Michael Brennan closed with a 68 at Yokohama Country Club to win the Baycurrent Classic by one at −16, his third PGA TOUR title and second of 2026.
Michael Brennan closed with a three-under 68 at Yokohama Country Club on Sunday for a 16-under total of 268, one shot better than Jacob Bridgeman and Keith Mitchell. Brennan, a 24-year-old American, collects $1,440,000 and 500 FedExCup points.
It is Brennan’s third PGA TOUR title in 33 starts and his second of the season, after the Wyndham Championship in August. The former Wake Forest player had never been to Japan before this week.
Brennan bogeyed the 10th, birdied the 11th and 12th, and played his last six holes in level par. At the short 16th he splashed out of a greenside bunker to a foot to save par.
The two men who shared the halfway lead both had chances to win. Mitchell played a five-hole stretch in five under to go two clear, but covered his last 10 holes in two over. Bridgeman missed a five-foot birdie putt at the 17th, then left a 55-footer at the last four feet short. He signed for a 69.
Defending champion Xander Schauffele stood one behind on the 18th tee but drove into the trees and made a double bogey. He closed with a 67 and shared fourth with Brian Harman, Ryan Gerard, Jordan Smith and Stephan Jaeger.
