Winners' bags: Yoshida has won all five titles with a 2021 3-wood

Yuri Yoshida won the BMW Ladies Championship with the 15° SIM2 Max 3-wood that was in her bag for all four of her JLPGA wins. The 5-wood is new, and the putter is the blade she has used since her amateur days.

The 3-wood in Yuri Yoshida’s bag when she won the BMW Ladies Championship on Sunday was there in July 2021, when she won the Rakuten Super Ladies for her first JLPGA Tour title. It is a TaylorMade SIM2 Max at 15°, a model that went on sale in the US in February 2021 at $299. Golf Digest Online (GDO) has published Yoshida’s club list from each of her four JLPGA Tour wins and from this week’s event at Pine Beach Golf Links, and the same head is in all five.

Yoshida closed with a 68 in Haenam, South Korea, to win by one shot on −17. It was her first LPGA Tour title, at her 74th start, according to GDO. Her driver is Bridgestone’s BX1ST, which went on sale in Japan in September 2025, and her 5-wood is a Callaway.

By Monday morning GDO had not published a list for Yuto Katsuragawa’s Genesis Championship win in Korea, and we found none for John Catlin’s Hong Kong Open. The Bermuda Championship goes to a Monday playoff.

Yoshida’s BMW Ladies Championship bag

This is GDO’s list from the event. GDO does not give her iron lofts or club lengths.

Club Model and shaft
Driver Bridgestone BX1ST (9.5°), Fujikura Speeder NX Green 50, S
3-wood TaylorMade SIM2 Max (15°), Speeder NX Green 50, S
5-wood Callaway Quantum Max (18°), Speeder NX Green 60, S
Hybrids TaylorMade Qi35 (22°, 25°), UST Mamiya Attas EZ 75, S
Irons Bridgestone 241CB (6–PW), KBS Tour 90, S
Wedges Bridgestone BRM2 (48°, 52°), Bridgestone Biting Spin (58°), KBS Tour 90, S
Putter Odyssey O-Works Black #2W
Ball Bridgestone Tour B X (2026)

She moved to the 2026 Tour B X at the start of the season, choosing it for a firmer sound off the face, according to GDO.

One 3-wood since 2021

GDO’s lists show the rest of the bag changing around the SIM2 Max. At the 2021 Rakuten Super Ladies and Golf5 Ladies she used a Tour B JGR driver and Tour B 201CB irons from the 5-iron down. By the 2023 Salonpas Cup the driver was a B1, with a 222CB+ 5-iron above 221CB irons, and when she won the V Point SMBC Ladies in March 2025 she had a 10.5° B1ST. The 3-wood stays a 15° SIM2 Max throughout, with a Speeder NX Green 50 S shaft in every list from 2023 on.

She practises with a 4-wood rather than the 3-wood. “If the 3-wood breaks there’s no spare, so I look after it very, very carefully,” she told GDO in February.

A new 5-wood, one degree stronger

The 5-wood is the one change since GDO’s list from the Honda LPGA Thailand in February. Yoshida had used a 19° Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke MAX since at least March 2025, and GDO’s February piece pointed out it was no longer Callaway’s latest model. At Pine Beach it was an 18° Quantum Max, one of Callaway’s 2026 fairway woods, on the same Speeder NX Green 60 S shaft. In the first round she hit the 5-wood on to the green in two at the par-five 17th and made birdie. She hit 13 of 14 fairways and 16 of 18 greens that day, GDO reports.

In 2021 and 2023 she carried two Tour B JGR hybrids at 19° and 22°; in March 2025, one at 22° and irons from the 5. Now two Qi35 hybrids at 22° and 25° replace the 5-iron, and the 241CB set starts at the 6.

Back to the amateur putter

GDO says Yoshida has used the O-Works Black #2W since her amateur days, and it is in the 2021 and 2023 lists. In 2025 she switched to an Odyssey Giraffe Beam DW mallet, which she used to win the V Point SMBC Ladies. She told GDO she came across the old blade two weeks before the Honda LPGA Thailand, while looking for a putting practice aid. She said the mallet’s head stayed too straight: “A pin type that moves a little feels easier to adjust and to control.”

Price and availability

TaylorMade’s US site lists the SIM2 Max fairway at $249.99, down from $299.99, in 15°, 16.5°, 18°, 21° and 24°, but the page says it is not available at the moment. The Callaway Quantum Max fairway is £359 on Callaway’s UK site and $399.99 in the US, where the 5-wood is 18° and the stock shaft a Project X Denali Frost Silver 60. Callaway says the 15°, 16.5° and 18° heads have an adjustable OptiFit4 hosel that sets loft and lie independently.
