MacIntyre and Rose's seasons end as ten skip Abu Dhabi
Robert MacIntyre, Justin Rose, Si Woo Kim and Ryan Gerard can no longer reach Dubai. Ryan Fox will play only the finale, and five other absentees have not said whether they will play in Dubai.
Robert MacIntyre, Justin Rose, Si Woo Kim and Ryan Gerard have played their last DP World Tour events of 2026. All four qualified for the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship at Yas Links on 5–8 November, the first of the two Play-Offs, and none is in the field the tour published on Monday. Only the top 50 available players after Abu Dhabi go on to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai a week later. A DP World Tour spokesperson told GolfMagic that the four cannot reach the top 50 after missing Abu Dhabi.
Ten of the 70 qualifiers have stayed away. The tour filled their places with the next ten players on the Race to Dubai Rankings, and Jordan Gumberg was the last man in when entries closed.

Fox, the Open champion, and Matt Fitzpatrick are inside the top ten who share a $6 million bonus at the end of the season, $2 million of it for the No. 1. Matt Fitzpatrick is also the defending champion in Dubai. “As things stand right now, I wouldn’t necessarily be too keen on going,” he said at Wentworth during the BMW PGA Championship. MacIntyre’s management told GolfMagic he did not want to make the trip now. Golf Monthly had earlier quoted MacIntyre calling it “potentially the end of my season right here”. Players do not have to give a reason, and the others have not.
The tour still intends to stage both events in the UAE and says the Foreign Office has not advised against travel there. The US State Department’s advisory for the UAE tells Americans to “reconsider travel to the United Arab Emirates due to terrorism and armed conflict”, Sky Sports reports.
All of the top five will play at Yas Links, where the purse is $9 million and the winner takes $1.53 million. Eugenio Chacarra leads the Race to Dubai by 669.27 points from Patrick Reed, with Rory McIlroy third.
