The foul-weather edit: new PING and adidas pieces for autumn golf

Six fresh autumn/winter pieces from PING and adidas, from a top-tier rain jacket to a waterproof spikeless shoe, and how to wear them when the weather turns.

PING has launched its autumn/winter 2026 collection and adidas has a new spikeless shoe, the CODECHAOS 27. Below are six new-season pieces for wet and cold rounds, five from PING and one from adidas. Everything is on sale now on the brands’ own websites. Prices are as listed at the time of writing.

PING AquaDrive Pro Waterproof Jacket (men’s), €400

At €400 this is the priciest piece here. The body is a three-layer ripstop fabric that is waterproof, breathable and stretchy. PING then swaps in a softer three-layer knit across the upper back and under the arms, which are the areas that pull tight at the top of the backswing. Coverage from golf trade reports puts it at 30,000mm waterproofing and 40,000g breathability, PING’s highest figures yet, with testing at its Performance Research Centre at Loughborough University.

It is fully seam-sealed, has a two-way front zip and laser-cut waterproof pockets, and the cuff tabs use moulded grips so you can cinch them with cold, wet fingers. It comes in Carbon/Black or Midnight/Black and pairs with the matching AquaDrive Pro trousers (€235) if you want the full suit.

PING AquaDrive Ladies Waterproof Jacket, €220

Women get the AquaDrive name in a lighter 2.5-layer fabric that is still fully seam-sealed and has some stretch for the swing. The hood packs into the collar. An internal shock cord at the waist lets you pull the shape in, so it does not billow in the wind. It comes in Freesia, Blue Indigo, Oxford Blue and Black.

PING Norse Cocoon 2.0 Insulated Vest (men’s), €180

A vest keeps your core warm and leaves your arms free, which is why we would buy one before anything else for winter golf. The new Cocoon 2.0 uses two kinds of PrimaLoft insulation. ThermoPlume, a down-like fill made from recycled fibres, goes in the main body. A flatter Silver Active layer sits in the side and shoulder panels, where bulk would get in the way of your turn. PING says both keep their warmth when damp, and the outer fabric is water-resistant.

Wear it over a merino or thermal base layer on dry, cold days, or under the AquaDrive shell when it rains. It also comes in Bracken.

PING Ines Ladies Insulated Hybrid Jacket, €160

The Ines is for days when a full waterproof is too much and a jumper is not enough. Clo Vivo Extreme insulation is placed on the front and back panels, with a perforated construction so heat and moisture can escape. The woven outer is brushed on the inside and treated to resist wind and showers. It has thumbhole cuffs and a fleece-lined collar.

PING Kaitlyn II Ladies Winter Trousers, €160

Match the Ines in Coffee with the Kaitlyn II in Coffee/Black. The fabric is brushed on the inside for warmth and has a water-resistant finish, and the straight leg sits well over a golf shoe or a pair of boots. There is a zipped tee pocket.

adidas CODECHAOS 27 Spikeless Golf Shoes, from €140

The CODECHAOS 27 has a new two-layer waterproof TWISTSKIN upper and a full-length BOOST midsole for cushioning. The new AXISLOCK piece cradles the heel for extra stability through the swing. The laced version (€140 on adidas.ie) puts the updated TWISTGRIP outsole in the forefoot. The BOA version (€160) uses the dial fit under a zipped shroud and has far more TWISTGRIP coverage for grip on wet grass. Both come in men’s and women’s versions, and some colourways were already reduced when we checked.

Layering the six pieces

Start with a base layer that wicks, add the Norse vest or the Ines hybrid on top, and keep the AquaDrive shell in the bag. Coffee, Bracken, black and navy all sit together if you want the outfit to match.
