Round report

Rozner's 65 draws him level with Jarvis at the Genesis Championship

Antoine Rozner, 77th in the Race to Dubai, and Casey Jarvis share the halfway lead on −10 in Korea. Pablo Larrazábal and Sebastian Söderberg missed the cut on +4.

Antoine Rozner started Friday three behind Casey Jarvis and finished it level with him on −10, after a bogey-free 65 from the 10th tee at Woo Jeong Hills. His first birdie was a 44-footer at the 13th. He added birdies at the 16th and 18th to turn in 33, then at the 5th, 7th and 8th. The 65 shared the day’s low score, and Rozner has not dropped a shot in 36 holes.

He came to Korea 77th in the Race to Dubai. This is the last counting event before the Play-Offs, and the top 70 go on to Abu Dhabi. “I have to focus on winning the tournament. I can’t hide that,” Rozner said. “My chipping has been really good this week so far.”

Jarvis, who led by one overnight, also started on the 10th and made seven pars before birdies at the 17th and 18th. He birdied the 3rd and 4th and parred his way in for a bogey-free 67. A third win of the season, after the Magical Kenya Open and the South African Open in February, would take him past Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed into second in the Race to Dubai.

Larrazábal and Söderberg miss the cut

The cut fell at +1, and 70 players made it. Sean Crocker, who started the week 103rd, was the last man in after a 71 and still needs to climb into the top 100 to keep his card. Marcus Kinhult (94th) and Yuto Katsuragawa (106th), who both started the week at risk of losing their cards, are tied 10th.

Sebastian Söderberg, 0.75 points outside the top 100 at the start of the week, missed the cut on +4 and is projected to drop to 103rd. Pablo Larrazábal and Ross Fisher were also on +4, and the missed cut ends Larrazábal’s 19-year run on the DP World Tour. He plans to go to Qualifying School next month. “It’s been a tough 20 months,” he said. Kiradech Aphibarnrat withdrew injured and will lose his Category 10 status for next season, and Marcel Siem, who opened with an 82, withdrew as well.
